Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
A major rail accident was narrowly avoided in Samastipur, Bihar, when the Bihar Sampark Kranti Express, traveling from Darbhanga to Delhi, split into two parts between Pusa and Karpurigram stations. The train's engine, along with two bogies, moved ahead, leaving the rest of the bogies behind. This incident occurred near Repura Gumti between Karpurigram and Pusa stations.
According to passengers, the separation caused a strong jolt, which frightened everyone on board. Fortunately, no injuries or damages have been reported. The train driver managed to stop the engine after it had moved about a hundred meters. The engine was then brought back, reconnected with the other bogies, and the train was moved to Pusa station slowly.
Upon receiving news of the incident, a railway team arrived to investigate the train's coupling. As of 12:45 PM, the train remained at Pusa station, with several technical officers present. These officials were reluctant to provide details, only stating that an investigation was underway to determine the cause of the incident.
Passengers expressed their relief and gratitude for averting what could have been a major accident. They recounted the sharp jolt and subsequent panic but were thankful that no one was hurt.
